Jharoka

After working with ceramic clay I was intrested in making more art from clay.I had bought Fevicryl Hobby ideas -Shilpkar from the local craft shop.I decided to make a small JHAROKA.. Its basically an art form of Rajasthan. Its a window type structure and can be used as an art piece or for decorating frames etc.

Here I have cut a mount board into a desired shape. The embossed look is made from Shilpkar clay (small button shapes).I have stuck these shapes with glue on to the mount board.Basically, I wanted to give it a bronze look but due to shortage of color I have used Fevicryl Hobby Ideas - acrylic Dark Brown 05.After the paint dried up I redecorated with small silver sequins. For more 3d effect I have used Fevicryl outliner.

Ceramic Mural - Lord Ganesha

Hello Friends,
Firstly wishing everyone a rocking 2014 !!!!
It was a great start for me in terms of toying the idea to learn something  creative.Well I had planned to pursue my interest in learning ceramic murals & came upon VIDUSHI ARTS which had various craft courses and ceramic murals was one of them. My teacher Mrs.Neeluji taught me the technique  of clay making, sculpting etc.it was great fun. I immensly thank her for teaching me this wonderful craft.

Of course the ceramic mural had to be a Ganesha one.I think Lord Ganesha is a famous God among painters and sculptors. My fav too :)

Well the basic step was to begin making ceramic clay dough.Next was to trace the design on a canvas board. After tracing we need to mould the body parts such as the ears, trunks, legs etc and stick it with glue on the canvas. The colors which have been used are from the pearl metallic shades from the fevicryl family( bronze, beige, copper). Most of the work is done with the help of my teacher & I thank her once again.
