This is an Ganesha wall hanging. This wall hanging is made out of  "Best out of waste" project.

The basic oval  shape is a  broken dinner plate.I have applied a ceramic coat on the plate.Lord Ganesha's  head is that of a key chain. The traditional wordings are a cutout from a wedding card. The acrylic colour used are yellow, red and green.

Artistic April

April month was very busy as it was celebration of Vishu and our housewarming ceremony. There was no time  for any painting & other craft activities. It was travelling time to beautiful temples of Kerala.I really had an amazing time visiting these temples. What amazed me is the marvellous architecture, the beautiful carvings, calmness, peace fullness  etc.......This is an  amazing temple of Snakes. The main deity is Serpent which is known as "Nagraja".The amazing thing about the temple is that its surrounded with lots of medicinal trees , creepers and plants. There are snake figures cut out of granite and place along the borderline of the temple.

This painting is really worth watching.Just watch out for the vibrant colours. It was placed at the entrance of the lobby of the guest house in which we were staying. What a beauty!!!It depicts a story of a childless couple and in due course they are granted with a serpent and a human child. Truly amazing!

At the same entrance of the lobby was a medium sized bronze statue of a serpent............it was really divine and magical.......

Main Temple ......

This is an another famous Vishnu temple known as "Sri Poornathrayeesaran temple" in Tripunithura. The temple is beautifully carved from exterior as well as interior. The temple has an excellent structure and occupies  a very vast compound.

The main deity Sri Mahavishnu resides under the shade of the five hooded serpent known as "Anathan" and the serpents coiled body is a seat for the Lord.

ENCHANTING ELEPHANT!!!
Elephants have a gr8 significance in Kerala temples. The temple festivals are exotic & elaborate. The festivals features large procession, with decorative elephants, drummers & other musicians, carrying Gods and Goddesses & brilliant fireworks.

Mural Painting

Recently I came across a Ganesha painting which I had done some years back.I had completely  forgotten about the same. This is  a kind of an abstract mural painting of Lord Ganesha. The medium is acrylic.Lord Ganesha is very quick and easy to paint & draw .Here I have used a kind of Chrome orange and a  mixture of yellow wherein  the the writing is in kind of a burgundy....
